Ingredients:

• 1 packet of brie topping
• 30 g (2 tbsp) unsalted butter
• 10 ml (2 tsp) brandy or apple juice, optional
• 1 small round brie or camembert (225 g / 8 oz)
• 1 French baguette, thinly sliced

Preparation:

• Score the top rind of the cheese with a knife or remove the top rind, leaving the side and bottom rinds intact.
• Place the cheese, cut-side up, in a brie baker or oven-safe pan.
• In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the contents of the topping packet, butter, and brandy or apple juice.
• Heat for about 25 to 30 seconds in the microwave, then stir.
• Heat again twice for about 25 to 30 seconds each time, stirring in between intervals.
• Pour the mixture evenly over the cheese.
• Place the brie baker or pan in the center of the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
• Remove from the oven and serve with baguette slices.
