A classic combination of apples, pecans and a hint of cinnamon, perfect with warm, melted brie or camembert. This dry topping makes it easy to prepare a gourmet appetizer at home. Prepare the mixture, place it on the cheese, and bake to allow the flavors to meld. Serve with toasted baguette slices.

Care & Use

Ingredients:

  • 1 sachet of brie topping mix
  • 20 ml (4 tsp) orange juice or orange liqueur
  • 1 small round brie or camembert (225g/8oz)
  • 1 baguette, thinly sliced and toasted

Preparation:

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Prepare the cheese in one of two ways: score the top rind with a knife, or remove the top rind while keeping the sides and bottom intact.
  • Place the cheese, cut side up, in a baking dish or brie baker.
  • Pour the contents of the topping mix sachet into a small microwave-safe bowl.
  • Add the orange juice or liqueur and heat in the microwave for about 60 seconds.
  • Spread the prepared topping evenly over the cheese.
  • Place the uncovered dish in the center of the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, cover, and place on a serving plate. Surround with toasted baguette slices and serve.
